26 Days Till Christmas...

I can't believe how quickly time flies these days...Only 26 days till Christmas. I only just started my Christmas shopping this weekend and I really didn't get much done. We did however make our yearly trek to the Christmas tree farm. We take a long tractor ride out into the Christmas tree forest and search for the perfect tree. This year was unususal as we cut down the second tree we laid eyes on. Usually it's an hour long search...I think it's a good sign of a simple holiday this year.

Well I am off to decorate...stay tuned I will post some pics later when I am done.

Stay warm and dry everyone! :)

Holiday Spoons...

This weekend it was so very rainy here so I decided to put my hands to work. Using Char's idea over at The Pickled Pepper Patch, I created these holiday spoons.

Inspirational poem...

I recently read this poem and was inspired to share it with you all....

THE COLD WITHIN
By James Patrick Kinney

Six humans trapped by happenstance
In dark and bitter cold
Each one possessed a stick of wood,
Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,
The first woman held hers back.
For on the faces around the fire,
She noticed one was black.

The next man looking cross the way,
Saw one not of his church,
And couldn't bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes,
He gave his coat a hitch.
Why should his log be put to use,
To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store.
And how to keep what he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.

The last man of this forlorn group
Did naught except for gain
Giving only to those who gave
Was how he played the game.

The logs held tight in death's still hands
Was proof of human sin.
They didn't die from the cold without,
They died from ---THE COLD WITHIN.

Weekend in Vermont...

This weekend I played hookey and spent the weekend admiring and photographing the beauty of Vermont. We hiked the Long Trail in the Killington area and spent the day covered in mud since it rained. But I think once you see some of the pictures you will agree it was worth it!!

I should thank my big Sis Donna who held down the prim fort and made sure we got some items listed for the KSGP Christmas Launch Sunday on ebay in spite of my romp through Vermont. Thanks Sis!

Weekend of painting...

Well I spent any free minutes I could find painting this weekend. My first project I did was I painted the wood framed mirror below. I just love winter country scenes and couldn't resist painting this scene. I just love the way it came out. If you look close you can see some sheep grazing in the snow covered fields...

Tthe other thing I was able to do this weekend was paint a set of prim Christmas tags. It is a variety set of all things prim for the holidays.

You can check these out over on ebay.
Well now I am going to settle down for the night. I wish you all a peaceful sleep!

We have arrived on the blogging scene...

Wow what a great surprise! I had been working on this blog for two days and only got as far as our banner and background. But to my delightful surprise, big sis swooped in and saved the day. Donna got our links in place, our music and my favorite ...the Halloween countdown. This whole blogging thing is a new experience for us. Our little sister over at Mystical Entities started a few months ago and has been encouraging us to start our own, so here we are.

Donna and I are sisters who live states apart but stay connected through our love of creating and scrapping. We have been making prim goodies for sale on ebay for the past two years. We are proud members of the group KSGP. If you would like to check out our offerings you can click on the link on the right.

These tags are finished up last week and will end on ebay on Sunday. I just love the way these turned out.

Well to all our new friends stopping in, I hope you enjoy your time here and let us get to know you too!
