Nautical "Sea" Spoons...by the sea...by the sea...by the beautiful sea
Well today I was so inspired by the Starfish board that I spent sometime creating these primitive nautical spoons that I just listed on Ebay. (Thanks to Char of the pickled pepper patch for the great tutorial!) I made a set of three: a clam, a crab and a starfish. I really wanted to try a seahorse but it is such a small amount of space I was afraid it would just look like a blob. :) I think they would look really neat on some fish netting. The only thing with creating this fun seaside stuff is that it makes me want the summer sun and sand...and we have some months to go here in the northeast before that happens.

Starfish Board
I made this Starfish board after I had seen the one Sara of Sweet Magnolias had made and decided to give it a try. Still working on the netting, just took it out of the bag so it needs to work out it's creases. It is fun trying to create a prim seaside feel to the room, so different from the rest of my house!

26 Days Till Christmas...
I can't believe how quickly time flies these days...Only 26 days till Christmas. I only just started my Christmas shopping this weekend and I really didn't get much done. We did however make our yearly trek to the Christmas tree farm. We take a long tractor ride out into the Christmas tree forest and search for the perfect tree. This year was unususal as we cut down the second tree we laid eyes on. Usually it's an hour long search...I think it's a good sign of a simple holiday this year.
Well I am off to decorate...stay tuned I will post some pics later when I am done.
Stay warm and dry everyone! :)

Holiday Spoons...
This weekend it was so very rainy here so I decided to put my hands to work. Using Char's idea over at The Pickled Pepper Patch, I created these holiday spoons.
I just love the way these turned out and I am offering them up for sale. This is a set of three handpainted teaspoons. Embellishing each spoon is some wire with a rusty jingle bell and a small hang tag ready for you to personalize. This set is $12.95 plus $4.00 for shipping. If you are interested email us at primpaperthyme@aol.com

Inspirational poem...
I recently read this poem and was inspired to share it with you all....
THE COLD WITHIN
By James Patrick Kinney
Six humans trapped by happenstance
In dark and bitter cold
Each one possessed a stick of wood,
Or so the story's told.
Their dying fire in need of logs,
The first woman held hers back.
For on the faces around the fire,
She noticed one was black.
The next man looking cross the way,
Saw one not of his church,
And couldn't bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.
The third one sat in tattered clothes,
He gave his coat a hitch.
Why should his log be put to use,
To warm the idle rich?
The rich man just sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store.
And how to keep what he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.
The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.
The last man of this forlorn group
Did naught except for gain
Giving only to those who gave
Was how he played the game.
The logs held tight in death's still hands
Was proof of human sin.
They didn't die from the cold without,
They died from ---THE COLD WITHIN.

Weekend in Vermont...
This weekend I played hookey and spent the weekend admiring and photographing the beauty of Vermont. We hiked the Long Trail in the Killington area and spent the day covered in mud since it rained. But I think once you see some of the pictures you will agree it was worth it!!
This was a porch we passed and I just loved the display they had out...
I should thank my big Sis Donna who held down the prim fort and made sure we got some items listed for the KSGP Christmas Launch Sunday on ebay in spite of my romp through Vermont. Thanks Sis!
